About Me
Jia Sitlani
Hi!
I’m Jia, a trained mental health professional with a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from SNDT University, Mumbai, and a Post Graduate Diploma from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai. Since 2022, I have been engaged in private practice, offering individual, one-on-one therapy to adults aged 18 and above. My work is conducted entirely online, providing accessible and flexible support tailored to each client’s needs. Sessions typically last 45–50 minutes and are scheduled on weekdays (Monday to Friday) based on mutual availability. I aim to create a safe, structured, and confidential space where individuals can explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences with clarity and intention.
Alongside psychology, I am drawn to questions that sit beyond it; around meaning, existence, and the nature of inner and outer worlds. My interest in philosophy, existential thought, metaphysics, and related fields continues to shape the lens through which I understand people. These influences remain in the background, but inform the depth and curiosity I bring into the work.
Work Philosophy
I see therapy as a space for understanding rather than quick solutions. The ways we think, feel, and relate are shaped over time, often in ways we may not fully recognise. I also hold that mental health does not exist in isolation, but is closely connected with our physical and inner lives. My work focuses on gently exploring these patterns and experiences, allowing meaning and clarity to emerge at a pace that feels manageable and collaborative. My work also extends into teaching, grounded in the belief that as therapists, we hold a responsibility to support those entering the field. I see teaching not just as the transfer of knowledge, but as a space for reflection, questioning, and developing one’s own way of thinking and being with clients.
Areas Of Work
I work with adults navigating a range of mental health concerns, including mood-related difficulties, questions around personality, self and identity, and the impact of everyday life stressors across both personal and professional domains. My practice also supports individuals dealing with body image and eating concerns, relationship challenges, grief and loss, as well as experiences of trauma and abuse (outside of emergency care). I work with those going through periods of adjustment and transition, offering a space to process change with clarity and support. I do NOT currently work with addictions or substance use concerns, children or adolescents, or offer couples, family, group, or crisis-based therapy.
